R12 Freon volume

Hello,

Does anyone know the R12 freon volume for my 1962 Invicta with factory a/c? I saw a tag/sticker for sale that says 5 lbs., but that seemed high.

Thanks for the reply. Guess I should have looked closer as I found a tag on the compressor stating 4.5 lbs.

In regards to the gauges... yes they will be used but the capacity still must be known to charge properly since both under and over the system limits are bad.

Your car should have a sight glass in the receiver drier. With the ac on max, fan on high, high idle, when your compressor cuts in, there should be no air seen in the sight glass when fully charged.
