removing instrument panel

I need to remove the instrument panel in my 1971 skylark. The wiper switch has broken and need to get it out to repair or replace.
Appreciate if anyone that can help. I'm in Australia so will have to get to it myself.
 
Disconnect the battery as there is plenty of "hot" stuff in there. Pull the vent cross over duct off below the steering column and you can get to it. One screw has a tab for a ground wire (little black wire)... don't forget that as the run speeds and park on the wipers wont co-ordinate. I did and now only have a single speed and a medium park with blades just above the hood edge. GROUNDS are critical on the wiper system! ws
