Ok, so summer can't be too far around the corner as when I got home from work today I was struck by the thought that my trunk hasent yet had any attention. I immediatley sprung into action (without even changing out of my white collar monkey suit. The original trunk mat on my '56 Special has been wet ever since i started the project 3 years ago, after much scraping to remove the (burlap?)mat I came across what seems to be vulcanized rubber strips running widthwise along the trunk floor. Now heres the question..What the hell are they for? Has anybody sucsessfully removed these items? I have not removed them at this point, however to patch a few small holes they must go in order to get a ggod weld.
