i have a '70 455 SF coded engine. it just has a cap over the dipstick tube, but no oil dipstick. can i just get a generic one from the corner auto parts store or do i really need a $50 dipstick and tube from ebay that is supposed to be especially for my vehicle? will buick 350 dipsticks work?

did you find anyone or any place in the Chgo area that knows buicks? i need a place to go also.
