What to do with my 64 LeSabre convertible (new old user)

Thanks for the response! I will look into FB Marketplace (though I gave up on FB years ago, maybe the Marketplace is separate). Also will draft a "for sale" write-up, so i can post here and in v8Buick.com.

What to do with my 64 LeSabre convertible (new old user)

Curious to see what suggestions folks have for my 64 LaSabre. (I do have a few posts out here, from long ago). Right off the bat, it's a 64 LaSabre convertible, canary yellow. Next up to bat - this car went through Hurricane Harvey (six foot of water in garage). Next - I've yet to do anything...

64 LeSabre removing front drums verification

Sorry for the delay responding. While driving, I heard "metal to metal" and assumed I required a brake job, so I figured I'd just do all four sides ... the drums spin around fine enough, but I was assuming the drum would slide off from the hub (they wouldnt, which is why I asked about being...

64 LeSabre removing front drums verification

I was attempting to remove the drums (finned aluminum) at the front, but it appears they are riveted to the hub? I did a search and found a thread concerning a 66 Riviera, over at v8Buick.com (http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=189434), but I'd like to verify this is the case with my 64.

1964: Blower motor works in Vent, not A/C

If I put the AC/Heat/Vent source switch to Vent mode, the blower motor blows air as expected - the blower speed switch controls the blower in all speeds. The blower motor also works in Heat mode. Pull blower speed switch (speed switch is a push/pull switch, as are the other controls in the...

    1962 skylark...needs engine

Personally, I wouldn't recommend them. Yes, they have many years under their belt with respect to rebuilding engines and transmissions. They are also known as Precision Engine, ICT Engines, and more notoriously, Thunderbolt Engines and Transmissions. Impaco, Inc also points to T.E.T. My...

    horn relay help

A suggestion - don't start a *new* thread when you could very well have posted right back into the original thread ... Unfortunately, for my eyes, the image in the "thumbnail" section is too blurry to make out (plus it looks like a portion is missing). Secondly, the image in the "attached...

    1966 LeSabre Horn Relay Help!!!

The relay on my 64 is on the left inner fender, indicated by the red line I've drawn in this photo ... you should be able to start at the horns and follow the wire back:

no oil pessure 72 455 buick

Agreed. Here's some scans from my Motor's manual - although it only goes up to 1970, the procedure should be the same (click for full size images): .

Lead substitute additive needed for my 1961?

If you feel like you need "piece of mind" concerning this, Gunk has a product called "Lead Substitute", available in most auto parts stores and probably a discount store, such as WalMart. http://www.gunk.com/CAT_M5012.asp

    1970 Wildcat convertible

Considering the body rust, you'll be surprised how much more there will be than what you can *see*. My brother, many years ago, bought a 69 Mustang which showed very minor surface rust (odd for Houston, so I suspect this car was transplanted), but when the body shop removed body parts (he was...

    Installing flywheel bolts

Some configurations require a specific bolt pattern - the holes might be "offset" so that the flywheel/ flexplate can only be bolted up at a specific pattern to each other. Could you be more specific? Let us know the exact year and model? It makes it easier for folks to know the configuration...

coolant in oil 68 Buick LeSabre 350

First off, I would never use any stop-leak product. There are a number of causes of coolant in the oil: intake gasket failure, head gasket failure, cracked head or block. Are you seeing creamy brown goop on the oil filler cap? Are you seeing it on the dipstick? Have you drained the oil and...
