Differential vent tube broken on 63 compact

I have a broken rear differential vent tube. Looks like the broken vent tube part is steel, but that part goes into a brass T-shaped sleeve that goes into the differential casing. Does anyone know if it is pressed in or threaded in? I have seen some diff vent tubes for GM full size that are threaded, but I don't know if it is an aftermarket product. I'm trying to replace the vent with minimal tampering because bits would fall into the fluid, and it would add more work to drain and refill.

Maybe someone will chime in that actually knows, but you could take an easy out, ( I would probably use a square one), grease it up so that you don't loose chips, tap it in and give it a twist. If the bushing is actually brass, it won't be too stuck, and when it turns, you be able to figure out if its threaded.

I would check the oil to see if has taken on water.

I you end up with the cover off, I keep a bunch of magnets about 1" in diameter on my tool box. When I take the cover and beside where the ring gear runs, I score it well with 40 grit and JB weld a magnet on. I actually do the same in transmissions too.
