I have a 1978 Buick Electra 225 with a 403 in it I am thinking of putting a 430 in it out of a 1968 electra 225. How much trouble will I encounter and will the 430 mount up to my 400 tranny???

HI, The transmission will bolt to the 430 correctly(same pattern),but the 403 is an Olds motor with distributor in the rear-430 in front also the starter may be on the opposite side. I am not sure about the mounts. It won,t be a simple bolt-in and the wiring will have to be moved a great deal. Check to see if the fuel pumps are on the same side.This is not a one Sat. project but can be done.
