hey guys, I just finished dropping a 455 into my 65 lark. what I want to know is what my power output will be around? these are the mods.
.030 over, 800cfm quadrajet, 10:1 cr pistons, 1" spacer, stock manifolds, align hone, opened oil galleries, electronix ignition with msd 8.5mm wires, blaster coil, can't recall the cam specs but is better than stock, 3 angle, TH-400 with 11" TC, 12 bolt posi with dutchman axles and auburn 3:42, thats all I can think of for now. I'm hoping to get at least 500 ft/lbs at the wheels. is this realistic?

The engine should have close to that much torque, but I dont think you will see anything close to that at the wheels. There is a 10-15% loss from the engine to the rear wheels. The Stage 1 had 510 ft. lbs. stock in 70. You did not say if you had the larger valves.

Wow !

The setup you have sounds almost identical to
the one I'm currently building. I too have a 65
Skylark hardtop that I'm building a 455 for, but I'm choosing to
go with the Edelbrock Performer intake, and I'll
be using '67 430 big port heads. Tell me, what
will you be using for exhaust...full headers,
shortys, or stock manifolds ?

Thanks,
Mark
