New from louisiana

Just picked up on a 64 Buick Electra convertible. Looking for alternate vin location . Seem the vin tag has fallen off and need to Know another place the vin was stamped.

Also - On my neighbor's 64 Pontiac, there is a VIN stamped on TOP of the frame under the trunk. Checking the net, seems Buick may have done the same thing. One quote found online:

Between the body and frame just forward of where the parking brake cable goes thru the frame and between body and frame about six inches rear of the second to last body mount.

In my neighbor's case, his GTO had thoughtfully rusted the trunk floor enough that he could peel it back...and there it was.

I got the car with no engine or trans. And the car is in pieces.

I will go check today

oh my, that IS a project.
.
prior to somewhere around 1970, Buick did NOT have the EIN being a part of the VIN, so finding the Engine stamping wouldn't do much.
original engine could have been either a 401 or 425 Nailhead with a Super Turbine 400 ( TH400 with a switch pitch torque convertor ).

looks like you've got your hands on a convertible.
