New Purchase 1965 Skylark GS

Hello, last week I purchased a 1965 Skylark Gran Sport. It's a complete car. Over the weekend I got the original 401 fired up! In all of my excitement, I'm trying to confirm this puppy is truly a GS. It has the badges but I can't confirm for certain it is a true GS. I don't have the original build sheet. Is there another way to tell for sure?

The one thing a that will likely never be added to a clone is the frame. Your car should have a boxed frame.

Look for the S on the trim plate under the hood. Some factories used the S on the plate to denote Gran Sport trim. Don’t be disheartened if it is not there, Fremont did not use it.
