I have a v8 outof a 55 special with a dynaflow trans. I want to install it in my 47 thathas a 248 straight 8 with a standard trans. I would like to use the standard set up. will the straight 8 bell hoising & flyweel work on the v8? If Iretain the dynaflow (I'd rather not) Itappears that thre is going to be a connection problem to the 47 driveline. Any help? - Thanks, Berndog

You can use the straight 8 transmission, but you will need a V-8 flywheel and bellhousing.

I am not sure if it is practical to adapt the Dynaflow to your existing torque tube. There is a significant difference in length. Measure from the flywheel to the torque ball on both engines and you will see what I mean.

Besides potential differences in length of the torque tube between the dynaflow and 3 speed tranny equipped cars, the flange of the dynaflow tranny's torque tube has 5 bolts; whereas on a 3 speed unit only 4 bolts attach the tube to the tranny.
