Olds Omega

I am very new to muscle cars. I have a 1974 Olds Omega that I am trying to make into a monster daily driver. The original 350 is cracked beyond use from previous owner. Is it difficult to put a Buick 455 in it with no hard modifying? What would I have to do.

the Omega would be the Olds version of the 73-75 Buick Apollo or 75-79 Skylark X-frame cars.

the X-body or "NOVA" cars
N - ova, Chevy
O - mega, Olds
V - Ventura, Pontiac
A - pollo, Buick
S - Skylark, Buick

the trans bell would have the correct bolt pattern to bolt up to the Buick, but you need to make sure there's a starter knockout on the passenger side. Olds put the starter on the drivers side. what exactly is the current trans?

you would need frame pads and engine mounts for the BBB. and you might need to drill the crossmember for bolt holes for the pads, i'm not sure.

need a new fan shroud and you ought to be looking at a new radiator for a big block.

if it came with an Olds v8, most of the wiring harness is going to be backwards from the Buick.

www.TAPerformance.com can probably help you with a lot of this.
