    12 to 6 coverter

    I am wondering if anyone makes a converter that would allow the use of a 12 volt battery with the original 6 volt system? I would like to try and keep my 51 original as possible but the 6 volt batteries are getting harder to get and dont seem to last. Any ideas would be great.

    Extremely hard starting '71 skylark

    Depending on the carb you may not have fuel for the first couple of cranks. If it has not been rebuilt the older carbs drain off and then have to fill up before being able to start. rebuilding it may help stop this from happening.

    I was actually going to rebuild the motor with the three speed and avoid the crannk problem. This also makes it easier to rebuild the whole system at the same time.     I am wondering what the stock color the engine and parts are supposed to be. Mine was painted black and I ordered the so called stock color from a catalog which was marked "turcoise" and it was a darker color than some of the pictures of other cars of that year. Is it supposed to be a light blue...

    Tranny tips

    After looking at it for a minute. It appears to be leaking where the torque tube meets the torque ball flange. I thing that someone rolled the seal in the torque ball flange. Possible??

    I am thinking of switching out my Dynaflow for the Three speed in my 1951 special. I found a parts car with the manual transmission and all the parts to convert. I was wondering if the torque tube and driveshaft are the same or is there a difference. Any thoughts are appreciated.:shifter:

    Tranny tips

    I have a 1951 special and the Dynaflow is leaking from the rear. I was wondering if there is a kit to put a th350 or th400 in the car that will match the original motor or would it be better to rebuild the old one.

    Dynaflow leak

    My 1951 special dynaflow leaks somewhere by the tail it starts to leak when she starts up and stops after she sits off for about 3 min. I suspect the torque ball butI am not sure.:confused:

    Glass jars

    I just Bought a 1951 Special from New York. I was wondering about the glass jar with the vacuum top that sits behind the drivers side fender. Does this controll the wipers or is there a different use for it?:confused:
