I exited the freeway and it started losing power and stalled out. It started right back up and ran sluggish the rest of the way home and stalled again as I...

    1960 LeSabre Convertible carpet

The carpet in my '60 LeSabre convertible is starting to sun fade. It seems no one has a kit for convertibles, only sedans and hardtops. Any suggestions on where I might look?

    Holley Sniper EFI *** UPDATE***

Okay folks, She's on, up, and running ! As you know I was having problems `getting the Holley Sniper 2bbl EFI to work correctly with the pedal start feature on the '60 Buicks. To recap, when in Park or Neutral and giving it gas the starter would engage. Jamie and the crew at the HotRod Shop in...

Hi Gang, got a technical question. Having a Holley Sniper EFI 2 BBL carb installed on my 1960 Buick LeSabre (364 engine). Problem: If I give it gas or otherwise rev the engine when the transmission is in Park or Neutral the starter engages. In drive, reverse or low no problem. How do I handle...

    Steering Wheel truing....

Is there a way I can straighten (true) my steering wheel on my 1960 LeSabre at home. The car drives straight but the 'spoke' on the inner steering wheel is not straight. That is to say it should be even at about the 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock position but currently it looks more like 8 and 2 o'clock.

    Painting over paint on engine???

A weird question (what other kind do I post). Okay, I cannot find brush-on gold high heat paint, except for 50 + bucks caliper paint. I have a finned aluminum valley pan and Valve covers to match (364 ci Nailhead) I wanted to paint the lower portions between the fins with a gold paint to match...

    Radio conversion

Another project slated for my 1960 LeSabre Flat top is the sound system. I spoke with a fellow from a local antique radio club. He states he can take my original radio and add a 'new board' to it along with an auxiliary port and I will have the original radio look with all the features of a...

    Fuel Injection Carb question:

Hey folks , a technical question. In the spring I am going to add a FiTech 2-BBl FI Carb to my 1960 Buick LeSabre flat top w/364-2BBL /Dynaflow. The question is this: How will the system work (or not) on a car such as mine which still has the 'pedal start' ignition system? The system requires...

Around 700 miles in 4 days, Old 27 Tour

Got back from the Old 27 Tour. Logged approx. 700 miles in 4 days in my 1960 Buick LeSabre Convertible w/401 4BBL Nailhead engine. Used not a drop of oil, Trans fluid still clear red & up to full level, engine ran smooth and cool as a cucumber and also checked gas mileage. Gas mileage ran from...

    Buick Logo-tri shield variations

I've got two 1960 Buick LeSabres. The 4 door flat top no post car has one type of tri-shield emblem on the trunk and the convertible has another. The hard top is the more traditional badge, a tri shield with 'normal' stag heads, BUT, the convertible has very modern looking very stylized stag...

    1960 voltage regulators

Hopefully this is the right place to post this. I'm thinking of replacing my old voltage regulators in my 2 1960 Buick Lesabre's. Question: One of my Buicks has the 401 4 bbl the other has the 364 2 bbl. I'm finding 2 voltage regulators online being the VR22 & VR24 what's the difference? Neither...

    It's a Marvel!?

I've seen this mentioned before but it may be worth a thread or two. Have any of you used Marvel Mystery Oil before, if so what were your experiences? Also, it's color and consistency reminds me of the little bottles of red oil that the Aurora HO slot cars marketed as (I think) 'Racing Lube' for...

    Air Bag suspension

Keeping my 1960 Lesabre convertible stock but thought I'd alter my 1960 Lesabre 4DHT a bit. I put a nice 2 tone retro paint job on it and added a redone retro looking interior to it but I want to air bag the rear suspension to lay it down at shows and such. Will the fact that the car has a...

My 1969 Buick Sport Wagon 400 w/ Vista Dome roof!

Quite simply 7 total vehicles is too many for a retiree so my 1969 Buick Sportwagon 400 and my Pontiac Solstice are going. The Wagon is a solid runner with "great bones". Believe me my reserve is more in line with a parts car price but I don't play games and I want to sell the car, not advertise...

    nostalgia photos with some buicks

A few b/w nostalgia photos from the 1965-66 Detroit Autorama (including some Buick power). It's refreshing to see some 'un-sanitized' customs without all the fancy staging and decorations. 1965 & 1966 Detroit Autorama Photos

    400 4bbl Sportwagon

Gosh it's fun getting the bugs out of a vehicle that hasn't run in a year! My '69 Buick Sportwagon is up and running again....such as it is. The car runs and drives great BUT....today it wouldn't come off a high idle when slowing down for stop lights. If I was driving at 40 Mph or 35 Mph...
